Answer Engine Optimization (AEO): A Marketer’s Playbook to Winning in the Era of AI Search
In the spring of 2024, I noticed organic traffic to the Sense website was stagnating. I had a hunch that people were starting to use AI to gather information, rather than Google, and that led me down the AI search rabbit hole.
As I consumed everything I could find on the topic, I took extensive notes that later became articles on specific topics. I then organized those articles into a 14-chapter, 155-page book that provides B2B marketers with a complete Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) framework.
I self-published the book in October 2025. It’s currently available on Amazon, and I’ve distributed it for free to marketers who hope to better understand AEO.
I believe my book is one of the most comprehensive resources on the topic. I’m pleased with how it turned out, and I’m excited to help brands increase their presence in AI search moving forward.
The 2025 Sense State of Staffing Report
For three consecutive years, I produced Sense’s annual “State of Staffing” research report. I started by creating a 25-question survey that was sent to our customer/prospect database, promoted on social media, and distributed via our partners’ networks.
I then analyzed the results, distilled the key findings into compelling narratives, wrote the content, and project-managed the design process. The report was launched in early January and served as Sense’s tentpole content throughout the year.

Sense Blog
In my most recent role at Sense, I increased organic traffic by 37% from 2023 to 2024 by developing a search-focused content strategy and following a consistent publishing cadence. At the start of 2025, we began prioritizing optimization for LLMs and saw a modest increase in referral traffic from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Copilot.
At the core of my approach was building content pillars that established authority and positioned the brand as a leading voice in its space.
Ebooks + Guides
Throughout my career, I’ve created downloadable assets that drive lead generation and support nurture campaigns. I’ve collaborated with marketing leadership, demand generation, and product marketing to create in-depth content that supports major feature releases and messaging themes.
In addition to producing ebooks and guides, I’ve built landing pages in HubSpot, crafted social content, created nurture sequences, and written SEO-focused blog posts, all with the goal of increasing conversions.

This type of content is ideal for nurture sequences and sales conversations. It helps potential customers understand how their peers in similar industries and roles have overcome challenges and improved processes, while providing my sales and marketing colleagues with credible proof points they can use throughout the prospect journey.
